horns of wilmington's cow

Walking to the office this morning in the sun to go and fetch my bike I pondered for a couple of minutes whether to take the low or the high road through the park. Plumping for the low I immediately regretted the decision as I saw a Buzzard up high, landing just above the high road, and staying put as a couple of joggers went by (as an aside, there were loads of joggers this morning - I've yet to see a jogger looking like they're enjoying the task...).

But then I stumbled upon this preening Chaffinch, posing much more comically, and with a lovely clear backdrop. Other than that it would have been some cute mini-bunny, or even one with deformed lugs.

Crikey but it's warm though. Some gardening done, after a walk down to Porty for some provisions, and it was time to sit under the shade of the gazebo in the back garden and watch the end of the latest stage of the Tour (with ITV somehow deciding the best time for an ad break was during the last climb of the day, just 8km long, and on which Froome launched his successful attack, as we were being told to buy some McCoy's crisps, well played ITV, well played indeed....).

A further scorching on a walk round the park and we're ready to finish off the pulled pork ready for dinner, out in the garden naturally.
