Another Day on the Emerald Isle

Not only the scenery, the silence but for the gentle waves in the distance, the wind abated and glorious sunshine all day, the sandpipers running around like primary school children on an easter egg hunt, but also watching the end of an era at Liverpool FC with a moving tribute to a remarkable and admirable human being in Jürgen Klopp.

We spent a lazy morning enjoying our environment here on the Irish coast before heading out for the mile walk to the nearest little village, Tully.  There we found a remarkably well stocked supermarket where various young Irish teenagers purchasing ice creams.  We stocked up on a few things including the Irish Sunday Times in the absence of the Guardian/Observer.

After lunch, we went down onto the beach and walked up and down, me in the water, though swimming seemed to be a step too far, so paddling was the order of the day, and L walked on the beach.

Managed to use the camp wifi to stream the Liverpool match, which they won 2 - 0 v Wolves and also follow the inevitable boring and dispiriting news of Man City once again winning the Premier League.  I would be more magnanimous, especially as they are my B-I-L's favorite obsession, but for the fact they are financed by oil money from the UAE, and clever accounting has allowed them to spend far more than most to lure the best players.  They are allegedly facing 115 charges of financial irregularities, but I imagine that will be sports washed away.

Anyway, I didn't let this spoil a really good day which finished with a Lancashire hotpot from the farm shop we purchased when we visited with A Helen.

Finally got to watch a lovely sunset over the sea.  Extra of the Black Knight Camper Van in situ to give an idea of just how quiet and pleasantly situated we are.  Very grateful for these wonderful experiences and spending time on our own with no pressure to go anywhere or do anything particular.  Another good day.
