Some  local woods and river banks have carpets of  little  Pink purslane (Claytonia sibirica) and sometimes with white flowers.   The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach and taste a bit like beetroot although it should be taken in small quantities because it is a mild diuretic.  It was an important plant in traditional medicine being used as a poultice for cuts and sores and for various other problems.  As with wild garlic and nettles, the purslane grows back quickly if it is foraged,
