Mellow Mallow

Swamp Mallows are related to the Hibiscus and are Native to Florida. They grow happily around our pond in red, pink and white. The pod-looking thing in the upper left of this shot is indeed a Seed Pod. A single plant can produce hundreds of seeds, so if one is not diligent about snipping off those pods before they burst open sending their immature offspring in all directions, one will end up with a large 'patch' of Swamp Mallows!
