Help me out, please

During my walk with the dogs this morning, I captured this on a buttercup. I think it is a variety of hoverfly or perhaps a small wasp?
Later, Sal and I went to the local garden centre, walked around buying some plants and had afternoon tea. Sal was brilliant, daily progress. Second part of the afternoon spent in the garden, bedding in our purchases.
