Jamaica Plain Door.
Editor and I were back in Jamaica Plain - my old 'hood from post-student days -, for another round of crown fitting at the dentist. Afterwards, as a reward, we went to JP Licks, the ice cream store founded there back in the '80s. The parlor is now situated in the old firehouse; lots of space, lots of flavors from which to choose.
Afterwards, having indulged ourselves in some sugar and dairy fat, we went for a stroll down the main street. In some ways, it's little changed from the days when I lived there. We passed this secret door, set back from the street in an alcove. It spoke to me.
