Poker, Bug and Towering Foxglove

MONDAY

A hot and sunny day.

I spent most of the morning in the garden, headed down to the bowls club for a practice this afternoon and then, after dinner, had a short meeting at the Salusbury Arms to discuss proposals for a local photography competition.

The red hot poker plant (complete with shield bug) was brought with us when we moved from West Yorkshire last year. It's still in a pot at the side of the house. The foxglove (see extra), which is well over 2 metres high, is growing on common land in the village I spotted it on my way back from the pub.
