So Sorry I Staked Them Out :(

I have been sitting with camera poised to capture the parent great tits visiting their chicks in the nesting box. I haven't had much luck.

While we were eating our BBQ, cooked on 'Pagan' house coal because Mr Q boobed, I heard one of the parents calling from the cherry tree. I rushed inside and got my camera and 400mm.

I was so upset to see the state of the adult bird. I've seen bedraggled parents before but this was something else. The poor bird's head is skeletal. :( I won't be staking out the box again.

Looks like it has caught a wasp. Clever bird. I've seen hardly any this season.
