So risky!

When I looked out of our window, there was a swallow perched on the edge of the border picking up stuff for the nest I guess.
I opened our door but he flew away of course, but soon came back and here he is.
The thing is, our house opens directly on to the pavement which is at the side of a main road which you can see in the background.
Why a swallow would land next to a road that has quite a lot of traffic going past, I have no idea!
