This Green Hairstreak..

appeared on the Birch in my survey area and I realised how lucky I am to see today within a few miles of home four Herons sitting in the heronry, the Mute Swan sitting on her nest below them, then covering her eggs while she took a dip, Orangetip butterflies mating on a Cuckoo flower, Four spotted chaser dragonflies , innumerable Large Red damselflies and a Common Blue, Woodpeckers, Willow Warblers, Tits and Finches and it was sunny and warm. To crown it all the Blackbirds in the garden brought their two fully grown youngsters out onto the lawn to feed!
