Bird sculpture.

The St Peters riverside sculpture project is on the Sunderland marina. This sculpture is on top of a post and was created by Craig Knowles specifically for the project. It is called 'Taking Flight' and was done 1996-1997. It stands about 6 feet tall on a post about 10 feet tall. I am not sure what kind of bird it is, maybe a cormorant or a shag. I have blipped this before from a different angle- here if you are interested.
