A Bit Late for April 25th

St Mark's Fly, Bibio marci, resting on garlic mustard.


I was checking out the garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) for butterfly eggs but didn't find any on this patch.  The larvae of orange-tips (and green-veined whites) sometimes feed on this plant.
