Little pied cormorant

Here is the little pied cormorant, showing off its wingspan, which is bigger than it! I thought of this as a difficult shot, essentially into the low, late afternoon sun. When I downloaded it I saw the light shining through the bird's outstretched wing feathers. OK!

The day finished up with the little family giving me short notice of their desire for dinner tonight. Mission accomplished.
