The Lozarithm Lens

The Front Yard (Wednesday 22nd May 2024)

The noisy garden landscaping work going on next door was suspended today because of the rain, but of course the same reason prevented me from catching up in my garden. I did venture outside briefly for yet another blue poppy Blip, and in Extras is one of several wildflower irises (iris foetidissima) that have just sprung up.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Mick Fleetwood and Friends - The Sky Is Crying (recorded live, 25 February 2020, London Palladium)
On this evening I watched the film Mick Fleetwood And Friends Celebrate The Music Of Peter Green, recently shown on Sky Arts. There was a Peter Green connection to all the music performed, with a revolving cast of guest musicians including John Mayall, David Gilmour, Christine McVie, Pete Townshend, Billy Gibbons and Noel Gallagher. The big surprise for me, though, was long lost member Jeremy Spencer, who quit the band to join the Children Of God religious sect in 1971 during an American tour, shortly after Peter Green's exit, and I didn't know had resurfaced. He sings and plays bottleneck guitar on this Elmore James song that he used to perform in Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Note Bill Wyman on bass.
