By the River

It was another successful vacation day, crossing the Bay of Fundy by ferry and landing at St John, New Brunswick, (not to be confused with St John's, Nfld.) Next stop, Fredericton. The best word I know to describe what we saw is green. It was a very hot day, breaking records. It was 32 with a 40 degree humidex, and was the second hot day in a row after much rainy weather. This was just the weather needed to turn everything to a lush green - the lawns, the trees, vines and flower greenery. It was a beautiful sight to view river running through the city, which has a forest of mature trees among the very old, but well-kept, brightly painted houses. And, then to stumble across one of my favorite street photography scenes, a wedding party. It made my day. I suspect the wedding attendants and bride would have preferred to have on the cooler attire of the photographer than the gowns they were wearing. But, they were not complaining!
