Long may libraries remain free

Returned to Whitchurch for our weekend supply of meat. Opposite the butchers is an Edwardian (free) library. It’s a lovely building and like many of the local libraries in Cardiff has been transformed into a Hyb (or Hub) that extends and modernises the traditional library services and facilities. It is set in a small park that the dogs and I explored. The first extra is a peak through the trees of the tower from the old Whitchurch Psychiatric Hospital. Apparently, about 10-15 years ago, alerted by increased electricity usage, the authorities found that one of the old unused part of the hospital had been turned by some enterprising porters into a cannabis farm.
Sally had an appointment with the practice nurse for a first dressing change. All was well. In the afternoon, she had her first physio session which also went really well. While waiting, I walked around Heath Park which is adjacent to the University Hospital and took the second extra of the Teddy Bear Picnic area created by the Dreams and Wishes Charity.
