Sign at Alva Beach.

Many thanks for your comments yesterday, as your will see - things haven't been that great.
Packed up and left Hydeaway Bay. Told everyone we would be back, as it is one of the best places we have found on the coast.
Headed for Ayr and out to Alva Beach. Decided to book into the caravan park there. Set up the camper trailer and went into town to get some bits & pieces, then drove out to the beach. This sign caught my attention just after we parked the Toyota to go for a walk on the beach. I saw a Pelican by some people fishing, and rushed back to get the big lens, but it had gone when I got to the beach again, but we walked out over the sand anyway. There was a nice cool breeze blowing, which I really appreciated.
Return to the camp, and settle down for the evening. PJ decided that he would cook our pork chops on the park BBQ.
DISASTER!! the BBQ didn't start at first, so he tried to use a match, but these appeared to be damp from being stored for a year. I went back to our camper to get some new ones. As I walked back there was a huge bang, and a flash of sparks that went as high as the ceiling, and about 3 metres wide. PJ got hit by the flash back, as he had managed to light a match and put it to the burner.
Got him into the shower & called the owners, they called the ambulance, who arrived about 20 minutes later.
They took him to the hospital, with burns down his right arm and hand, and down his left leg. Plus his face. Luckily he hadn't got any down into his lungs.
It could have been so much worse, it just doesn't bear thinking about. He spent that night in the Ayr Hospital as they said it would be 24 hours before they knew how bad his burns were.
I was told that the doctor would be doing his rounds anytime after 7.30am and I could come in for that.
