Penstemon digitalis - Foxglove Beardtongue

This is a native wildflower. That said - I found it in a clearing on one of the properties we walk past every morning on Chapel Spring Lane. I saw masses of it from a distance and tiptoed in to see what it was. So I guess the people who owned the place planted it, judging from the fact that they cleared some spots in the woods in front of their house, and then seeded the clearings with something. Something turned out to be this!
