Hummingbird hawk-moth

It was flitting from one lavender stem to another, never resting on the flower, but hovering near it and putting its long proboscis into each flower to reach the nectar.

These moths are very difficult to photograph because they don't stop at all, their wings are constantly moving as they hover, so this was the best image I could get. Usually I can't catch them at all, but at the moment we have so many lavender flowers that this moth stayed in one area of the garden for about five minutes.
