Longhorn beetle

I always used to associate this lovely longhorn beetle with summer walks through woodland rides. I would find it feeding on tall umbellifer plants or Vallerian or, as here, Dog-rose. I always knew it as Strangalia maculata and it was one of the first insects I learn the Latin name for. Imagine my distress when I discovered it being referred to as Leptura maculata. Thank goodness I never quite adjusted to this as I now find it is called Rutpela maculata. I will always think about it as my 'Summer Spotted Longhorn Beetle' and it will still bring great delight each June/July when I first spot it.
