Duckerazzi

Our duck Trout has hatched out one little duckling. There were 3 or 4 eggs but only one got through. This little one looks strong though and is eating and drinking, already it is adept at catching flies and moths. Amazing how fast ducklings can move.

Mum is being very protective and not letting the duckling get far from her. There's lots of long grass and nettles in their pen to use as cover. Which makes photographing a small fluffy creature even more difficult.

Thankfully the weather was cooler today and the sun came out in the late afternoon. Just in time to eat dinner outside and potter about talking to the poultry. Now however (11.10pm) the haar has enveloped us and I can see no further than the garden wall.

No rain though, not for ages.
