Rochester Cathedral

Today is our 41st wedding anniversary and we decided to take a trip out. On our way to our original destination my wife found out in the guidebook that it was not open on a Monday, so we had a change of plan. We chose Rochester Castle.

It was a lovely sunny day and we ate some sandwiches by the river Medway before visiting the castle. Although we had seen the castle countless times from the train or the car, this was our first visit. There are plenty of stairs to climb in the ruined keep and this photo of the cathedral was taken from about 3/4 of the way up.

After the castle we wandered up and down the High Street and then had a cream tea in the Cathedral Tearooms.
