Hot Potatoes

The conversation was wide
and far reaching.
It covered thorny issues
and difficult decisions.

It ranged from
who does the dishes
to who's been left
holding the baby

and from who
gets things going
to who never
lifts a finger.

All this talk of juggling
jobs and family life,
coupled with several bottles
of a heavy red wine,

gave one of us an idea
(I'm not sure who, now):
is it actually possible to juggle
with red hot potatoes fresh from the oven?
