Great Blue Heron

Our first day of the moving water kayak class went very well.

The instructors and the information provided was excellent.

Paddling down a stretch of the Willamette River was quite challenging for a group of newbies.

Only one of our classmates swam, though several of us had some close calls, Kathy and I included.

This Great Blue Heron watched us as we learned several new paddle stroke techniques.

I wonder what was going on in his mind as weall paddled our boats around him.

Holey moley are we tired tonight after 6 hours on the water today.
