Still Life #2

Today I tried an experiment: no TV for Madeline, and no TV or phone for me while Madeline was home and awake. After a few early bumps it was one of the most satisfying days I've had as a parent. We cut, we pasted, we made tents. We read Curious George instead of watching him. We played with salt and pepper. We shared a popsicle on the front porch. I got Madeline to school early, swam laps at the pool, planted my new herb garden, and made a healthy dinner. Who needs TV?
