Sweet Pea

We planted several pots of sweet peas this year hoping to plant them out when the weather was kind and the garden dug over and warmed up. This is the first plant to flower, and such a pretty mix of soft colours... we were glad to have taken the decision to try again after the slugs had eaten all of last years offerings before they had grown to even 40 cms.

Sweet peas remind me of my Mother, now no longer with us, and the wonderful plants she grew and generously gave us bunches of the fragrant blooms week in, week out, all summer long.
