St Maurice and the Dragon

Took a walk to St Mo's today hoping to get some photos of damsels (damselflies that is) and saw a dragonfly zooming around one of the smaller ponds. Watched if for a while and noticed it always landed on the same branch after a circuit or two of the pond. Walked around the pond and found a decent spot for a shot and waited until the dragonfly settled down on its perch again - they seem to have favourite spots that they return to even if disturbed.

Got a couple of shots and then a damselfly decided to share the dragon's branch. It was only when I was processing them in Lightroom that I noticed the fly below the dragon and the shuck from another damsel on the other branch.

Another day of sunshine.
