The First Burst Pipe Of Summer

Every summer the city of Wiesbaden embarks on a series of roadworks across the city.  And every summer on round about the first day, a team will unerringly find the water main and they will break it. Cue flooding, roadblocks, traffic jams and the cancellation of many, many bus lines (including all 3 that are of any use to me).

Normally a trip would last 25-30 minutes, today's journey time was an hour and a half (including a 15 minute walk in the scorching sunshine).

No worries though - the company responsible will spring ooze into action and we'll only suffer the consequences of their incompetence for 2 or 3 weeks.  Well, you can't just rush these things...

My Blip is what every well dressed man is wearing this summer - tightly wrapped bandages up to the knee and socks - a look that positively screams "Where are my sandals?"

In positive news, the date for the first operation has been confirmed for the middle of September and September this year even.  Obviously treating me as a priority case.  First of 4 operations.  There is an absence of joy in telling you that.
