Who Gon Stop Me

I decided on a more epic photo for today. Similar in terms of the minimalist composition to the one from two days ago, but definitely with more impact and attitude . Mr. President Smith on top of the world, showing off his Victory Arms pose, photographer variant.

Montserrat! A peculiar mountain formation inland from Barcelona, with a monastery poised among its unusual rock formations. It's an amazing series of rounded peaks, strewn with chapels and other religious structures. Not sure how many times I've been there on hikes, but it was a good idea to come back and take a break from the city for some landscape photography. 13 of us went there, via metro, train and railcar. Then, we took the funicular up and after a lunch consisting of our own chorizo and cheese sandwiches, we set off on the new Sant Jeroni walk. We saw a couple interesting things, apart from the amazing views, including climbers in the distance and a mountain goat. Instead of going all the way up to the peak, we took the old Sant Jeroni walk through the valley, down the steep staircases and back on to the Monastery. Then we visited the church (wangle fun) and Shane and me queued up to see the famous black virgin. We restrained from doing the victory arms pose in front of her though. After grabbing some holy water and lighting a red candle for my mom, we met back up with the others and headed back to Barcelona. Definitely an exhilarating day, Montserrat was really sunny and breezy, making it the perfect weather for some mountain walking.
In the evening, all I can remember is going back to Fresc Co, this time at Placa Catalunya. It was much better than the first time though, and the steaks (ambiguous as to whether they were pork or beef) really made it worth the money! Then we chilled on Catalunya for a bit before heading back to the hostel. Sleep.
