Poppy in Focus

We discovered that the bunch of weeds in our flower patch are in fact mostly an array of flower seedlings that we'd planted May bank holiday. Huzzah!

That was quite a big result as we thought we spent time & a small garden sized fortune (actually it was pretty dirt cheap to be honest, but anyway) on growing some lovely weedlings. Wrongo! A few have infiltrated the patch & the creeping vines have made their way up & along much of it at some point or another. One of the sunflowers (which isn't in fact a huuuge weed) is already towering above the rest & did have a vine winding it's way up - we Jack & the Beanstalked it before it took too much of a strangle hold.

This emerging poppy plant is of the wildflower variety (hence our confusion: weed or flower) & I cannot wait to see their scarlet bloom. I was trying to get some contrasting focus in this shot, & my little camera might just about have managed it, although it does struggle with focusing in macro.

The Apprentice tonight possibly reached its most anticipated & exciting instalment, with the Final Five making the interview stage. Claude Litner really is the undisputed master of the ruthless interview. Like a boss! Jordan was right royally done like a kipper. Worst. Interview. Ever. Fact.

And now for something completely different..

'A shrubbery!'
