Megantic

Was watching with horror on my computer screen the awful pictures of the train derailment and explosion in Lac Megantic, Quebec. I was in that very town last October during my research trip for the new book. In the company of a lovely lady minister, her daughters and mother - their family originated in the Hebrides - we had lunch in a Tim Horton's about 100 meters from the epicentre of the explosion. 50 dead, and the museum that housed the records of all the immigrant families completely destroyed. Simply dreadful!
