Chocolate fountain

The fountain in Fochabers sits prominently in the High Street outside Bellie Church. It's a Grade B listed structure and is now undergoing something of a well deserved makeover.
Dated 1878, Historic Scotland describe it as a "painted cast-iron fountain; central pedestal with shaped base decorated with acanthus leaves and 4 cherubs, each sitting on urn with water spout. Pedestal supports 2 shallow circular basins, the smaller above the larger. Fountain stands in centre of large shallow octagonal pool contained by moulded cast-iron sides."
The plaque on the side reads "Erected by the inhabitants of Fochabers in acknowledgement of the liberality of the 6th Duke of Richmond and Gordon K.G. in supplying water to the town 1878"
The strange thing is that if you check out images of the fountain from 5 years ago it used to be pure white.
