Life in a small town

Wild strawberries in the city

It was my father's bithday today, he is now 87 years old. we had to help him in the garden, as he could not reach some of the branches he wanted to have cut off. I noticed some wild strawberries growing in the lane behind the gardens - I don't remember wild strawberries - or any other kind - growing in or near these city gardens when I was young. The gardens were for ornamental purposes only and had a lawn and some rosebushes. One of our neighbours who had the garden converted to a large pond was frowned upon at that time. Seems like nature is creeping back, now.
