Basement Door

Another door to add to the collection. This is the rear door to the lower floor of Newtown Old Town Hall built in 1700 and now owned by the National Trust. It's not as spooky as it appears in this picture.

The tiny town hall has an interesting history with Newtown being infamous as being a 'Rotton Borough.' It lies within a beautiful nature reserve and some of the most unspoilt countryside in the Island.

I hope to be posting several blips on this area from time to time. Any visitors with a love of beautiful countryside and history will find the area fascinating.
