IT'S FAIR TIME

Fisher is a village in Champaign County, Illinois that was founded in 1875. The population on the sign as I drove into town today said 1,900. Fisher is about 25 miles from Urbana, Il. where I live. This was the week for the Fisher 5 day long fair. They claim to have one of the best Carnivals in the state, Swyear Amusements on the Midway with 2 armband nights adn $1 Ride night! Fuedin Hillbillys Band, animals & livestock shows, Mutt Shows, Tractor Pulls, Queen Pageant and Lawn Mower Demolition Derby and Demolition Derby cars, trucks and mini vans. Great fun for all ages. Nice commercial building with local merchants and air-conditioned Glades Hall with Bingo daily. Exhibit Hall with local youth exhibits, up to not-so-young exhibitors. Several local food vendors that feature homemade cinnamon rolls and pies and Friday Fish fry, during the fair week. In 2013, they will be contributing to the IAFE initiative "Dream Big" to help end hunger around the country! They invite you to help them achieve that goal!
They are inviting everyone to come on over and let them show you what a hometown fair can be! They promise to greet you with a smile! I actually was able to drive right onto the grounds this afternoon. Addmission today was free.
As you can see at around 4 p.m. there wasn't much actitivity. Weather today was sunny and cool so they couldn't have a better day for a fair. Should be nice again tomorrow. I almost wanted to go back again tonight.
