The Blues

Apparently this is the hottest day so far in our mini heat wave and I can, for once, believe the forecasters; even the breeze has Mistral qualities about it.

His Lordship is not quite his usual cheery self this morning, the early morning gym endorphins seem to have dissipated too quickly and he is feeling low.

Nevertheless he was persuaded to walk with me to the canal in the sun and we regaled ourselves with a coffee in the old funeral parlour, which is now a bright and lively place and can lift the spirits of anyone entering -rather changed circumstances than of yore when the patrons were very dead.

We have company this afternoon and it will be lovely to sit outside in the sun and exchange news while sipping ice cold drinks.
These heady days of summer have been all too few in number these past few years. In the three years we have lived in the Dower House, this is the longest period of good weather that I can remember.
