Rooftops

Today was a day of culture. We visited the Museum of Modern Art (MAMAC) in Nice.

From June til September there is a celebration of Henri Matisse who lived on Nice for about 30 years.

This week we have visited Palais Lascaris, the photography museum and two museums on the sea front all with exhibits displaying a connection with Matisse.

If I am honest I don't generally like modern art and prefer painters who can paint rather than splodge. I just about cope with Matisse.

I will happily visit MAMAC not for the art but for the roof garden where you can walk across undulating footbridges and get some fantastic views of the city.

This is looking East with the Chateau hill in the background including its cemetery.

Our last night was finished perfectly with a picnic on the beach with a bottle of Bolly.

England bound in the morning - hope Jasper has missed us.
