Barmy Army

A day spent on the terraces (some folk call them seats) @ Trent Bridge with the Barmy Army (some folk went to watch a game called cricket).

This photo has in the background a game of cricket being played by some Englishmen (many of whom are not Englishmen) against some Australian fellas. It was a fine tussle.

However for those of us in the Fox Road stand I am afraid to report that the effects of some drinks that the authorities were selling to us began to have side effects. It is worth noting that Saturday's is the traditional fancy dress day so many of my cricket watching chums were dressed as Baywatch beauties, Star Wars hero's, The Flintstones, Where's Wally to name but a few. Umpa Lumpa's this year seemed particularly in great numbers. They must be breeding. The mix therefore of fancy dress and these drinks that were clearly laced with something called alcohol was always going to lead to shameful antics...

Anyhow this photo is taken around 5pm to loud shouts of 'feed the snake' as scallywags build an imaginary snake out of plastic drinking vessels which they pass along the rows to avoid the evil snatches of the pesky men in luminous yellow (security).

My bag of food runneth over.

Outstanding.
