Mayor's consort jumps the gun

This year we have a lady mayor and her husband is therefore the consort. She had the job of starting off the riders in the cycling Grand Prix of Wales this morning, but her consort was having a practice here, five minutes before the start.

They have a 160 kilometre race, including climbing to over 400 metres after the first 60k. Let's hope they all get back safely. Meanwhile there was a Para Grand Prix of tandem and handcycle riders round town.
