Not The Drôme Valley

Lavender fields may have been the backdrop for the Tout de France today as mild mannered Chris Froome hurtled towards Mont Ventoux at a speed beyond comprehension.

I have suffered on this mountain in the midday heat and had to jump into the fountain at Nyons on the way back to our holiday base.

As a tribute to these supreme athletes, and this beautiful part of planet Earth, I have taken a shot of the Lavender near home looking fab in this Provençal weather.
