The Business End

After an aborted attempt to get in to the National Railway Museum, we decided to give the York Air Museum a go.
The entrance fee was a bit steep, well, nearly verical, but it turned out to be a very interesting and educational afternoon.
This photo is the sharp end of , arguably the most beautiful of second world war aircraft.
I wonder if anyone agrees, and knows what it is
