Boudicca

Today was a catch up day in the garden and then off to the garden centre to get some new plants.

We then went into Greenock to get some items for this evenings BBQ, as I had decided to prepare some Tandoori Chicken, with a cucumber and mint raita.

On the way back home, the Fred Olsen Cruise Liner "Boudicca" was preparing to leave Ocean Terminal in Greenock. This is a shot of the Boudicca as she manoeuvred past the Fishery Protection Vessel, Minna.

The name Boudicca is inspired by the queen of the of the Iceni. She was a true warrior queen. In AD 60-61, she inspired and led the largest revolt against Roman rule in Britain. Details of her life are sketchy but Boudicca is still celebrated as someone who stood up against foreign oppression.
