Better Than Treasure

I was just about to sit on a park bench this morning when I spotted this tiny creature (about 1.5cm long) was already there.

What wonderful textures, hues, sheen and markings! I did look through loads of images for beetles in south-east Queensland only to find there are many thousands of them. The closest I've got to an ID is the Hemiptera family. I wouldn't mind a pair of earrings in this design (not made from actual insects, I should make clear!).

Chily and rainy here still - a top of 19C. How odd it is, that over there in the UK you have Aussie-style heat!
