Between fen and mountains

Lunchtime

The Wash looked very beautiful today in the bright sunshine. I went out with rent-a-dog for a walk and there were plenty of birds; Canada geese, godwits, egrets, coots, gulls, swans, mallard and many more besides. The hide on the reserve has a board with the day's sightings and there are usually thirty of more birds listed. I was trying to get a shot of a bird in the reeds when I spotted this damsel fly eating its lunch. It is not one for the squeamish but it is worth viewing large.
