The River Rhein

Here's the inevitable shot, from the banks of the Rhein, looking over to the main (Dom) Cologne Cathedral, alongside the church of Gross St. Martin.

Its hard to convey the sheer scale of Cologne Cathedral - the biggest building in the world when it was finally completed in 1880. Truly stunning, from both inside and out.

The weather in Cologne is even hotter than Munich, and I sense we may spend quite a bit of time along the banks of the Rhein, where it is noticeably cooler!

... and meant to mention: we luckily managed to get the tennis-final to live-stream on the ipad; and thus did see Andy Murray win Wimbledon ;-)
