Eyesight testing in rural Bangladesh

IMPACT Bangladesh has trained more than 500 primary school teachers in how to test their pupils for problems with their eyesight over the past year.

Children who are identified with vision loss are referred to IMPACT's Eye Health Workers for further investigation and appropriate treatment (including prescription spectacles). Our Community Health Centres in Mehepur and Chuadanga Districts also provide specialist care where needed and surgery to restore vision lost to cataracts.
