From Ardvreck Castle - EDIT

The cloud is staying close to the land... we're hoping that things will clear soon so that we can actually see the TOP of the amazing landscape that's all around us. Rather galling to watch the weather forecast for the rest of the country and to see the high high temperatures everywhere else in the UK. Ho hum.

We had a super day, started off by driving along the twisty turny road from Achiltiebuie to Inverkirkaig, then lunch at the amazing pie shop in Lochinver. After a superb (and warming) bowl of Cullen Skink we headed to the ruins of Ardvreck Castle. The light was amazing, filtering through the low mist and I had fun with my wide angle lens. This was my favourite photo of the day, not an obvious shot from the site - the castle is wonderful - but I liked the slightly abstract quality, the dark sky and light foreground.

The weather is definitely clearing, Horse Island looked stunning in the late evening sunshine, couldn't resist updating my Blip to add this shot.
