Life on the Good Intent

The Inner Game of Pier Jumping

We went to the Kingdom today (Fife)! Picked up the nephews in Dunfermline - two rounds of crazy golf and a huge laugh!
G and I headed (by a rather circuitous route, I was driving) to Elie. Missed the beach cricket again but the Ship Inn's beer garden was mobbed. So why not serve food before six? Surely the bar takings must pay for at least a cook to do soup/sandwiches/chips/burgers? Or is it because a lot of the punters have holiday houses and make their own lunch? Very frustrating and not a good thing for our tourist industry. A bowl of Cullen skink would have gone down very nicely.
G joined the young and not so young pier jumpers for a while and then we drove home via Kirkcaldy - no public toilet open at seven pm on the the esplanade! I really despair.
Dinner in Nandos - by then we just wanted a decent meal with facilities! Have to say I enjoyed the salad with avocado and green beans!
