....... FOR Y U R T FEST !

Strange not be a part of the epic annual rig up of our scrappy home grown tiny little festival, but kind of luxurious to just cheep up to the woods and it all be rigged up with usual anticipatory glory. We arrived at high noon to be greeted by our good friends, all displaying an already interesting collective of wobbly fun loving personalities : as known as, they hadn't been to bed since arriving a few days ago.

We slipped into the idyllic Yurt Fest Residence as if we'd never been away. Within the hour we'd made a valiant start on fixing up lanterns, opening various bottles of booze and finding ourselves enjoying very colourful canoe journeys through the mesmerising lake, with patches of dreamy land surrounding the twinkling water holding clusters of people having a lovely time. Chasing the formations of the sun as it speckled its journey from one side of the banks to another, we began our slow and hedonistic existence, rolling from fun to fun. As the light faded, a cluster of us began a chatty and slightly confusing mission to prepare a big fire cooked feast for all the sozzled Yurt Festers, complete with a stack of hand built japatties that we lovingly kneaded in a long chain of mucky handed production. Twilight settled and we busied ourselves with illuminating the array of scrappy lanterns and hanging candles. The evening's entertainment of our dear performing friends then cranked into action and the rest of us cuddled on the floor nesting within blankets and getting blown away by all the magical talent we are so lucky to know. We sang along, heckled, cheered, goaded and in the end, had a mosh pit. By midnight, the PA had been cranked up to next levels and the enchanting night of Yurt Land set in fully. We rowed canoes around in the iridescent early summer light of night and lit floating lanterns that hovered in the darkness. We twitched our way from loving circles to funny ones + didn't even notice it getting light.
