Bats-in-the-belfrey

Along the woodland edges and rides there is suddenly lots of Nettle-leaved Bellflower, Campanula trachelium, in flower. I've always known the common name of Bats-in-the-belfry for this plant, but Geoffrey Grigson does not mention this in his wonderful The Englishman's Flora. He gives it the name Throatwort, which derives from the use of the yellow latex it secretes for treating severe sore throat and tonsillitis.
